Refereeing Course: British Fencing Level 1&2

FIE referee Chiara McDermot will deliver the British Fencing Level 1&2 refereeing course during our normal Friday session.

The course will include:

• Basic competition rules
• Material rules & technical rules
• Penalties
• Arm gestures
• Safeguarding
• Competition formats
• Foil-specific technical rules, material rules and penalties

The course concludes with the option to take the Level 1/2 Foil Theory Exam, with certification and feedback to follow. 

To take the optional exam, each participant must bring an internet-enabled device to acess the google-forms exam (smartphone, laptop, tablet etc).

It is requested that you have looked at:
BF Referee Course Preliminary Reading
Hand Signals
and know the penalties (see t170 of the rulebook) 

Normal fencing will run concurently with this course for those that don't wish to participate. 

Parents & helpers and are encouraged to join, but won't be able to take the exam.
