Learn to Fence Our courses for beginners (minimum age 8) are led by James Kingston, a qualified British Fencing Association coach registered with England Fencing. The course lasts for 8 weeks (with a break for Easter) and takes place in the sports centre of Rye St Antony School: see location.  An attendee at one of our recent courses commented "We were all instantly welcomed, and each leasson became the highlight of my week, and great value for money ... It was a great introduction to the sport, and I managed to make a lot more progress than I initially predicted, and will definitely be continuing."   COVID Safety As part of our COVID safety protocols, we must restrict the number of people present in the sports hall. This means that all attendees at a session including parents/guardians must book a place. For this reason, we request that younger fencers bring only one adult with them to a session so that there is sufficient space for everyone else. We will contact you before the course starts to confirm whether this will apply to you.   Fencing courses for Beginners  When a beginners' course is complete you should be able to compete in a proper fencing bout with your fellow beginners.
